We think little things make a big difference, so we try to be attentitive to all the details. Throughout the Chateau you will find little objects we value and love. They are in the Chateau because we want our guests to love them like we do
The Grounds - private, not isolated
The chateau sits in five acres of private grounds, with formal manicured gardens, terraces with tables and parasols, mature trees and shrubs to snooze under, and even your own football pitch for the more energetic. And yet we are only 400m from the centre of Marthon, so you can stroll to the baker for your morning croissants, still warm from the oven. Even though it has less than 600 inhabitants, Marthon supports a tabac, a boulangerie, a butcher, a general store, a pharmacy - even a doctor and a cinema! When you stay at the chateau, you will quickly become recognised and treated as part of general village life.

We are less than 2 hrs drive to Limoges, Poitiers and Bergerac Airports.
Bordeaux International Airport is 1hr 45m mins by car. Or 35mins by the high speed train to Angouleme
Paris CDG or Orly are less than 2 hrs by high speed train
By Train:
Eurostar from London to Paris takes just over 2 hrs
Paris to Angouleme by takes as little as 1hr 45mins by train
Driving:
For those driving from the UK, Caen to Marthon takes less than 5hrs
The Channel Ports to Marthon is around 7.5 hrs drive on uncrowded motorways
Make a splash
The 14.5m x 6m pool is fully walled with a double-locked security gate, and is set in the chateau's 5
acres of private grounds. Surrounded with sun beds and a terrace to lounge on, it slopes gently from a depth of 1 metre
at the shallow end to a full 2 metres at the deep end

The large, airy salons are all for your private use. One has a bar, one has a baby grand piano. Three face the garden terrace with its tables, parasols and views of the formal gardens with mature trees and lines of yew.
Cook up a storm
The trendy, spacious and well equipped kitchen maintains its warmth and style with extensive use of wooden surfaces, modern artwork, ancient doors used as wall hangings and fabulous moody lighting. With two ovens, gas range, three work-stations and all the utensils and equipment you need to create your own Masterchef winner, the kitchen is a space to express your creativity.
Sleep a Bit
When all that fun and food get too much, you can relax in one of the nine huge bedrooms. Each one carefully designed with individuality and flair, they are extensively equipped with flat screen TV, DVD player - some even have wine chillers.
Soak a Bit
And then there are the bathrooms. And what bathrooms they are. Big, luxurious, decadent. Some with two tubs, some incorporating the Chateau's turrets, all great places to unwind.
